In a fight that many are calling one of the best fights they’ve ever seen at Unified MMA 66 in Toronto, Ontario, rising Canadian star Bobby Poulter captured the vacant Unified MMA welterweight championship with a third-round TKO victory over kickboxing superstar Simon Marcus on February 20, 2026.
Poulter, 29, delivered a decisive finish at 4:05 of the third round, handing Marcus his first professional MMA loss and seizing the welterweight crown in front of a packed Toronto crowd.
Marcus, 39, known internationally as “The One” from his decorated kickboxing career, had entered the bout with an undefeated 3–0 MMA record, but Poulter’s pressure and striking proved too much as he sealed the stoppage.
The victory marks a significant milestone for Poulter, who has long eyed a breakthrough moment in his MMA career. In the build-up to the fight he called the matchup a “dream come true” and a chance to elevate his profile toward bigger stages, including potentially the UFC.
With the title now around his waist, Poulter’s stock in the welterweight ranks has surged, sparking conversations about future high-profile opportunities in both Canadian and international MMA circles.
