Aaron Jeffery Joins PFL After Bellator Shutdown, Set to Fight in April 2025

Aaron Jeffery has officially joined the Professional Fighters League (PFL) following the dissolution of Bellator MMA.

The PFL acquired Bellator in 2023 and ran the promotions concurrently for some time, until the abrupt January announcement that Bellator would cease operations immediately.

Jeffery, a 32-year-old middleweight from Tillsonburg, Ontario, spoke with MM-EH while out for a walk in 28 degree Florida where he’s on one of his routine training trips to Kill Cliff FC. He told me that he was initially uncertain about his future when he heard that Bellator was shut down, until a few days later when his manager told him that he was with PFL now.

“The stress of not knowing what’s going on for a week was not fun, but it’s all settled now,” he said, “I’m just happy that I still have my existing contract and I’m going to fight.”

Standing at 6’2″ and fighting out of Niagara Top Team in St. Catharines, Ontario, Jeffery holds a professional record of 15 wins and 5 losses. His Bellator career was highlighted by a first-round knockout victory over former title challenger Austin Vanderford at Bellator 284 in August 2022.

Jeffery’s move to PFL positions him to compete in the league’s structured season format, offering a clear path toward championship contention and substantial financial rewards.

He confirmed that he will be competing in April when the PFL commences its 2025 season, with eight weight classes of eight fighters each.

Jeffery said that he has an idea of who his opponent will be, but wants to keep his cards close until the official announcement from the PFL.

“Everyone at the gym (Kill Cliff) has opponents, cause I know a couple of guys at the gym that are with PFL that have opponents, but I don’t see any brackets posted anywhere.” He said.

On June 13, 2026 Ash stepped into the cage to do what he loves most—compete and test himself as a mixed martial artist. Unfortunately, during the fight, he suffered a devastating leg break that immediately ended the bout and changed the course of the months ahead.

Following the injury, Ash was transported to the local hospital to receive specialized surgical care. He now faces surgery, a lengthy recovery process, rehabilitation, and months away from work while his leg heals.

Like many athletes, Ash dedicates countless hours to training and competing, often making sacrifices to pursue his passion. This unexpected injury has created significant financial strain, including medical-related travel expenses, accommodation costs, rehabilitation, and lost income during his recovery.

We're asking for support from friends, family, teammates, the MMA community, and anyone willing to help ease the burden during this difficult time.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping Ash cover living expenses, recovery costs, and focus on healing without the added stress of financial uncertainty.

If you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much.

Thank you for your support, encouragement, and generosity. Together, we can help Ash get back on his feet and continue the fight outside the cage.
