The MM-EH Show Ep. 21 | Alana Cook’s OKTAGON MMA Debut + Dufort & Ado Dominate Samourai MMA 21

Posted on 10 September 202610 September 2026 By mmehandy No Comments on The MM-EH Show Ep. 21 | Alana Cook’s OKTAGON MMA Debut + Dufort & Ado Dominate Samourai MMA 21

🥊 THE MM-EH SHOW — EPISODE 21

Hey there, fight friends! Welcome back to The MM-EH Show — the show where we talk about Canadian mixed martial arts and ONLY Canadian mixed martial arts.

Episode 21 takes us from Niagara Top Team to the Czech Republic, then back home to Samourai MMA 21 in Laval, Quebec, with interviews, huge finishes, and a very special moment for MM-EH.

🔥 ALANA “THE ALANAMAL” COOK — OKTAGON MMA DEBUT

We kick things off with Alana Cook, who recently signed with OKTAGON MMA and is in the Czech Republic preparing to make her promotional debut.

Alana talks about how the OKTAGON opportunity came together, her move from British Columbia to Niagara Top Team, the resurgence of women’s MMA in the Lower Mainland, training alongside UFC contender Jasmine Jasudavicius, and her thoughts on Olympic wrestler and MMA prospect Hannah Taylor.

With OKTAGON boasting a deep women’s roster in Europe, Alana has a massive opportunity to make a statement in her first appearance with the promotion.

🥋 MICHAEL DUFORT & RICHARD HO — SAMOURAI MMA 21

Next, we head to Laval following an outstanding performance from Michael Dufort, who submitted Antoine Chaput in the Samourai MMA 21 main event.

Dufort dropped Chaput with a calf kick before chaining together submission attempts and eventually finding the finish with a nasty Kimura.

After the fight, I sat down with Michael and his coach Richard Ho to discuss the performance, Dufort’s continued development, and the team Richard has built around some of Canada’s top MMA talent.

💥 MO ADO — 25-SECOND KNOCKOUT

Mohammed “Mo” Ado needed just 25 seconds of the first round to knock out Mac Laursen in their welterweight contender matchup.

Ado joins the show immediately after the fight to break down the finish and what comes next.

The victory puts Mo in position to challenge Ian Stoby for the Samourai MMA Welterweight Championship — a matchup that has all the ingredients for an incredible fight.

🤝 MO ADO & MAC LAURSEN — TOGETHER AFTER THE FIGHT

Then something a little different.

After interviewing Mo, I ran into Mac Laursen on my way out and asked if he wanted to talk.

His answer? Let’s do it with Mo.

So just moments after competing against each other, Ado and Laursen sit down together to talk about the fight.

It’s the kind of respect and sportsmanship that makes MMA special.

🇨🇦 A SPECIAL NIGHT FOR MM-EH

Samourai MMA 21 also gave me one of the most unexpected and meaningful moments I’ve experienced covering Canadian MMA.

Samourai owner Daniel Lafond and the promotion surprised me during the live UFC Fight Pass broadcast by bringing me into the cage and unveiling a permanent tribute on one of the cage posts recognizing me as:

“MMA Pioneer — Andy Cotterill”

I didn’t see it coming, and it’s difficult to put into words how much the gesture meant to me.

Thank you to Daniel Lafond and everyone at Samourai MMA for their continued support of MM-EH — and, more importantly, for everything they continue to do for mixed martial arts in Quebec and Canada.

THE MONSTER IS BACK 👹 After nearly two years away THE MONSTER IS BACK 👹

After nearly two years away from the UFC Octagon, Chad “The Monster” Anheliger is finally closing in on his return.

I caught up with Chad ahead of his UFC Edmonton fight against Steven Koslow on October 17 to talk about the long and sometimes frustrating road back to competition.

A serious knee injury forced Chad onto the sidelines, but instead of rushing his return, he used the time to properly rehab, rebuild his strength and conditioning, and rediscover just how much he still wants to fight.

“I’m hungrier than ever to get back in there.”

And Chad sees Edmonton as more than simply another fight. After the UFC worked with him throughout his injuries and his lengthy absence, he called this a “big redemption opportunity.”

We also talked about becoming a new father to his son Jack, his life coaching and training at Champions Creed, and the other Monster now joining him on the Edmonton card — fellow Canadian Kyle Nelson. 👹👹

Chad says he’s coming back in the best shape, best headspace and with the best game plan possible.

After almost two years of waiting, Chad Anheliger finally gets to do what he loves again.

🥊 BRAYDEN TODD: “I’VE NEVER BEEN IN A FIGHT THAT’S 🥊 BRAYDEN TODD: “I’VE NEVER BEEN IN A FIGHT THAT’S NOT FIREWORKS.”

Brayden Todd has been around combat sports for almost his entire life.

The 26-year-old Adrenaline MMA fighter started wrestling at just seven years old, eventually earning scholarship opportunities before turning his attention toward mixed martial arts. Fighting was never far away — his father was a kickboxer who trained under the legendary Shawn Tompkins, and Todd grew up around the team that would become such an important part of Canadian MMA.

Now Todd gets another opportunity to show what that lifetime in combat sports has produced when he faces Trammell Arrington at Rising Stars in London.

And if you haven't watched Brayden Todd fight before, he gave MM-EH a pretty simple description of what to expect:

🥊 “I’ve never been in a fight that’s not fireworks.”

Despite his wrestling pedigree, Todd admits he's drawn toward standing in the pocket and proving himself as a boxer and striker. But if someone decides they'd rather wrestle him?

Good luck.

“Nobody in the amateur scene’s gonna take me down. No chance.”

That's the confidence of someone who has been wrestling since childhood and says he has yet to be taken down in an MMA fight.

Todd also talks about growing up inside Adrenaline MMA and learning from an incredible collection of Canadian combat-sports experience, including Mark Hominick, Sam Stout, Chris Horodecki and BJJ coach James Horth.

“I owe my coaches literally everything.”

Even after nearly two decades around the gym, Todd says he's still learning every time he walks through the doors.

We also talked about the transition from wrestling to striking, the lessons from his amateur losses, his frustrating last fight cancellation after making weight, and why he believes fans are going to want to see what happens when he and Errington step into the cage.

Todd even made me a promise:

“I’ll have a highlight for you.” 👀

Brayden Todd joins me on The MM-EH Show this week ahead of Rising Stars in London.

🥊 EDDIE “THE ACTION MAN” FELVINTI IS READY TO SHOW 🥊 EDDIE “THE ACTION MAN” FELVINTI IS READY TO SHOW A DIFFERENT FIGHTER

At just 18 years old, Eddie Felvinti already has two amateur MMA fights under his belt — and he isn’t hiding from the fact that both ended in losses.

He’s learning from them.

The Guelph, Ontario fighter joins me on The MM-EH Show ahead of his third amateur bout at Mayhem 5 in Lindsay, Ontario, where he’ll face Mustapha Bouraoui.

Coming from a wrestling background and now training at 519 Jiu-Jitsu, Eddie and his team have gone back through his first two fights to identify what needed to change.

Range control. Cleaner striking. Staying composed instead of getting dragged into a brawl. More jiu-jitsu.

There’s also been a major change for this fight: Eddie has moved down a weight class.

He says he feels better conditioned, more athletic and simply like a better version of himself.

But don’t mistake improvement for caution.

🔥 His Mayhem 3 fight was described to him as one of the most entertaining fights of the night.

🔥 His bout with Michael Ryan at BTC 37 earned Fight of the Night.

Now Eddie wants another one.

“The Edward Felvinti that you're gonna see walk into the cage at Mayhem 5 is gonna be completely different from Mayhem 3.”

His prediction for what fans should expect?

“Expect a war.”

At only 18, Eddie isn’t supposed to be a finished product. This is what the amateur ranks are about — competing, learning, making adjustments and coming back better.

Now we get to see the next version of “The Action Man.”
