Xavier ‘Spartacus’ Nash (8-5 MMA) will defend his Battlefield Fight League Lightweight Title for the first time on June 9th when he’ll face Achilles Estremadura (7-1 MMA) at BFL 77 in Vancouver.
This will be Nash’s third fight with the British Columbia based organization. He won the title in a back and forth war with Navid Zanganeh in March, and before that, he defeated UFC vet Tristan Connelly in October of last year.
Estremedura has had all but one of his 13 amateur and professional fights with the BFL organization, going all the way back to BFL 1 in 2010. His last fight is the sole blemish on his pro career, when he lost on Dana White’s Contender Series in November 2021.
BFL 77 takes place on June 9th, the day before UFC 289 is held in the same city.
I am purely speculating, but I wouldn’t be surprised if BFL has some extra influential eyes from the UFC giving them scrutiny, so this could potentially be a huge opportunity for any fighter competing on this card.
