GFL First Two May Events Postponed – Possibly Happening June 15-16

By Andy Cotterill News came out today from veteran MMA journalist Ariel Helwani that is both surprising and not surprising at the same time. BEN LEECE MAKES A STATEMENT AT FLA 26 Big Ben Lee BEN LEECE MAKES A STATEMENT AT FLA 26

Big Ben Leece just answered some questions.

Coming off his first professional MMA main event, Leece joins me immediately after an impressive TKO victory over veteran Lorenzo Celis at Fight League Atlantic 26.

Ben came into this fight knowing Celis represented a significant step up in competition — and walked away believing he performed even better than he expected.

We break down the finish, including the speed and check hook that helped turn the fight in Ben’s favour, the moment he realized he was getting overzealous and deliberately slowed himself down, and what it means to get a stoppage against the most experienced opponent of his career.

But the victory came at a price.

Ben believes he BROKE HIS HAND during the fight and says he’ll need an X-ray before being cleared to compete again.

And then there’s what comes next.

After the victory, Ben called his shot — Davyd Titorenko.

It’s a matchup Canadian MMA fans have been talking about for some time. Titorenko defeated Chris O’Toole, the only fighter to beat Leece, and Ben believes there’s now a real story behind putting two Canadian heavyweight prospects together.

First, though, that hand needs to heal.

At just 23 years old, Ben Leece is continuing to answer questions every time he steps inside the cage.

After what he showed at FLA 26, there are going to be a lot more eyes watching what comes next.

THE MONSTER IS BACK 👹 After nearly two years away THE MONSTER IS BACK 👹

After nearly two years away from the UFC Octagon, Chad “The Monster” Anheliger is finally closing in on his return.

I caught up with Chad ahead of his UFC Edmonton fight against Steven Koslow on October 17 to talk about the long and sometimes frustrating road back to competition.

A serious knee injury forced Chad onto the sidelines, but instead of rushing his return, he used the time to properly rehab, rebuild his strength and conditioning, and rediscover just how much he still wants to fight.

“I’m hungrier than ever to get back in there.”

And Chad sees Edmonton as more than simply another fight. After the UFC worked with him throughout his injuries and his lengthy absence, he called this a “big redemption opportunity.”

We also talked about becoming a new father to his son Jack, his life coaching and training at Champions Creed, and the other Monster now joining him on the Edmonton card — fellow Canadian Kyle Nelson. 👹👹

Chad says he’s coming back in the best shape, best headspace and with the best game plan possible.

After almost two years of waiting, Chad Anheliger finally gets to do what he loves again.

🥊 BRAYDEN TODD: “I’VE NEVER BEEN IN A FIGHT THAT’S 🥊 BRAYDEN TODD: “I’VE NEVER BEEN IN A FIGHT THAT’S NOT FIREWORKS.”

Brayden Todd has been around combat sports for almost his entire life.

The 26-year-old Adrenaline MMA fighter started wrestling at just seven years old, eventually earning scholarship opportunities before turning his attention toward mixed martial arts. Fighting was never far away — his father was a kickboxer who trained under the legendary Shawn Tompkins, and Todd grew up around the team that would become such an important part of Canadian MMA.

Now Todd gets another opportunity to show what that lifetime in combat sports has produced when he faces Trammell Arrington at Rising Stars in London.

And if you haven't watched Brayden Todd fight before, he gave MM-EH a pretty simple description of what to expect:

🥊 “I’ve never been in a fight that’s not fireworks.”

Despite his wrestling pedigree, Todd admits he's drawn toward standing in the pocket and proving himself as a boxer and striker. But if someone decides they'd rather wrestle him?

Good luck.

“Nobody in the amateur scene’s gonna take me down. No chance.”

That's the confidence of someone who has been wrestling since childhood and says he has yet to be taken down in an MMA fight.

Todd also talks about growing up inside Adrenaline MMA and learning from an incredible collection of Canadian combat-sports experience, including Mark Hominick, Sam Stout, Chris Horodecki and BJJ coach James Horth.

“I owe my coaches literally everything.”

Even after nearly two decades around the gym, Todd says he's still learning every time he walks through the doors.

We also talked about the transition from wrestling to striking, the lessons from his amateur losses, his frustrating last fight cancellation after making weight, and why he believes fans are going to want to see what happens when he and Errington step into the cage.

Todd even made me a promise:

“I’ll have a highlight for you.” 👀

Brayden Todd joins me on The MM-EH Show this week ahead of Rising Stars in London.
