Canadian bantamweight standout Charles Jourdain is set for one of the biggest opportunities of his UFC career when he competes in the co-main event at UFC Fight Night: Burns vs. Malott on April 18 in Winnipeg.
The Quebec native will face American contender Kyler Phillips in a bantamweight bout at the Canada Life Centre, marking a major showcase for one of Canada’s most entertaining fighters. The matchup was recently confirmed as the co-main event for the card, which will be headlined by Canadian welterweight Mike Malott against Gilbert Burns.
Jourdain (17-8-1) enters the bout riding strong momentum. The 30-year-old has won his last two fights, including victories over Victor Henry and Davey Grant, both via guillotine choke submissions. Those performances further solidified his reputation as an aggressive finisher and fan favourite.
Nicknamed “Air” for his dynamic striking style, Jourdain has built a reputation for exciting fights since joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2019. After competing primarily at featherweight earlier in his career, he has found renewed success since moving to bantamweight, where his speed and finishing ability have translated into highlight-reel victories.
