Sources have told MM-EH that Canadian Aaron Jeffery will be taking on England’s Fabian Edwards on March 22nd.
Jeffery (14-4) is the #4 ranked Middleweight in Bellator MMA, while Edwards (12-3) is currently ranked #1. This fight will take place at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Bellator was recently acquired by the Professional Fighter’s League (PFL), and the two organizations are having a PFL Champion versus Bellator Champion event on February 24th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event will feature championship matches for the Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, and Welterweight classes.
If Jeffery wins against Edwards, it is not unreasonable to assume that he would likely get an opportunity to challenge for a Middleweight title at some point later in 2024, however, against whom is unclear.
PFL’s format has seasonal (yearly) championships, and they currently do not have a Middlweight Title Holder, while the current Bellator Middleweight champ is Johnny Eblen.
