I once heard a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu say that the day he received his Black Belt was the day that he now no longer considered himself to be a beginner.
Perhaps that perspective could be applied to mixed martial artists who achieve their goal of fighting in the world’s pre-eminent MMA organization, the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Now, the real work can begin, and now, a legacy can be created.
Bantamweight Serhiy Sidey had compiled an impressive 9-1 record on the Canadian circuit before winning his UFC ticket with a victory over Ramon Taveras at UFC President Dana White’s Contender Series last September.
Sidey and Tavera will be having a rematch at UFC 297 in Sidey’s hometown of Toronto at UFC 297 on January 20th, and in this exclusive MM-EH interview, he sits down with MM-EH Andy Cotterill to talk about his life, and this fight.
