Canadian Mixed Martial Artists Jesse Arnett, Michael Dufort, and Xavier Alaoui, all had impressive victories at the two UAE Warriors events held over the weekend in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The UAE Warriors Featherweight title changed hands after Calgary’s Jesse “Big Cat” Arnett used his elbow to open a cut over the eye of opponent Ali AlQaisi in the second round, thus ending the fight when the cageside Physician had a look, and awarding Arnett the belt.
AlQaisi was none too pleased, causing a ruckus that saw him initially berate the official, before going after Arnett who was apparently trying to calm the situation.
Montreal’s Xavier “The Breadman” Alaoui displayed a comeback of the year award candidate performance, going from the edge of defeat to the joy of victory in merely 10 seconds.
Opponent Fabricio Sarraff caught Alaoui with a wicked right cross in the second round that dropped him hard, but Alaoui scrambled to his feet right away to escape about a dozen paces away, and then connect with his own wicked right that connected on the chin of Sarraff, who was closing in for the kill.
This victory gives Alaoui the UAE Warriors ‘Arabia’ Bantamweight Title.
Finally, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec’s Michael “The Canadian Badass” Dufort defeated France’s Wilson Varela via unanimous decision.
