Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia’s TJ Grant has been expecting good news all week, as he is not-so-patiently waiting on the birth of his first child.
But UFC President Dana White shared some good news of his own during the UFC on Fox 7 post-fight press conference last night, as he revealed that should Grant defeat Gray Maynard at UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Bigfoot II on May 25, then he will be the No. 1 contender to challenge for champion Benson Henderson‘s lightweight title.
Grant, who trains at FitPlus, is a perfect 4-0 since dropping to lightweight in 2011, most recently knocking out Matt Wiman at UFC on Fox 6 in January.
Henderson retained his title last night, earning a split decision victory over Gilbert Melendez.
