Indo-Canadian fighters Kultar ‘Black Mamba’ Gill and Gary ‘Saint Lion’ Mangat both won at Super Fight League 3, in Delhi, India today.
MM-eh has been documenting the saga of Kultar Gill’s return from retirement since last fall. We were first to bring news that the K-1 and DREAM veteran was contemplating ending his four-year retirement (Video HERE), and Gill also kept us in the loop — sometimes daily, with his ongoing negotiations with several Asian MMA organizations before he finally agreed to sign with India’s Super Fight League.
Announced as Kultar Singh Gill and “The most decorated Indian fighter in history”, he made a grand entrance to the jammed Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Although rated for 10,000 people, the stadium was even fuller with an estimated 12,500 fans — many of whom were sitting in the aisles. Gill strode out with a slow and regal pace with a sword in one hand and majestically acknowledged the crowd by raising the other on each side of the walkway.
